Wednesday Prompt: Summer Poem

2009 June 24

SPRING’S FRUITION

Do not show me precious pictures.
That elfine darling,
Nectar drooling down his peach-complected
Nubbin of a chin.
The jewel of your heart.

I’ve lived through sixty Augusts, friend,
And know
However sweet the spring may be,
There’s always hell to pay
Down the line.

Since it’s the first prompt of summer (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), let’s write a summer poem. You can write about a summer activity, summer heat, summer flowers, or summer whatever.
